Preordered!

One more attempt to get this in the mailbag, all the more relevant now that you're formally involved with prediction markets - would love your take on this story of Rishi Sunak's aide betting on the timing of the UK election, in all likelihood with insider information (https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/12/rishi-sunaks-closest-aide-placed-bet-on-election-date-days-before-announcement?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other). I think it's a really curious case, I can see how it's a bad visual for this guy... but how can you justify a legal political prediction market that suppresses good information? Do you see this as the same as an athlete betting on one of their own games, or different? How about insider trading in the stock market?

Congratulations! Have you considered offering some sort of book + year of Silver Bulletin bundle? I have a hunch there's a significant overlap in the set of readers.

What about signed copies for Bulletin subscribers?

Your preview piece in February which revealed the lime green cover appears to have predated the “Brat” album cover, so it’s more likely that you scooped them!

You really need to lean into the lime green Brat thing. Claim that as one of the first pundits to predict Biden would step aside, you were not scooped by lime green Brat Summer. This is just an example of your uncanny ability to spot trends and connect dots before. the average pundit. It was also part of your brilliant forecasting ability to release the book, with correct branding a week before the start of the DNC!

I preordered the book. I'm a bit worried it'd be too elementary for me now (I happened to have read The Signal and The Noise a semester or two before taking stats classes so it was super-helpful), but I'm still interested in what you write about it!

Soooo ... I guess this means Nate is brat?

Drinking and snorting cocaine doesn’t go with risk management.

Sure it does! Drinking (presumably ethanol, not cocaine) and snorting cocaine introduces all sorts of risks that you can fun attempting to manage!

Already bought the Audible and a hard copy on pre-sale. What do you want from me Nate? How many copies?

I put the first hold on it at the library; does that count? (The Wichita Public Library has ordered four copies.)

Out of curiosity, why do we not get the lime green cover in the UK? I know different countries have different marketing needs, but would be interested in hearing an insider's account.

In a cruel twist of irony for a book about risk, my pre-order earlier this year was with a book seller that has ended up going into voluntary administration, crystallising my risk and leaving me an unsecured creditor rather than a book owner! (I've preordered again, this time with Ma & Pa Bezos' little family business).

Read it cover to cover. Great book. I can attest.

I preordered April 11. When the book didn’t download on my Kindle 2 days later, I started freaking out. because it wasn’t downloading! Because April 13 isn’t August 13! 🤣. I can’t wait.

I preordered on Kindle (I loathe hardcovers), but I'm curious if the Kindle edition will be a bit lacking if there are a number of plots and vizes. I will certainly report back my thoughts on it.

I used to do some public speaking, and was surprised at the number of revisions I needed to make when I practiced speaking my written remarks. Speaking patterns are different than expressing written thoughts, at least in my case, so I have some appreciation of what you went through recording the audiobook (which I will preorder, so as not to have a conflict with my fellow Wichitan, Karl J.).

Preordered back on March 10th from an earlier "shameless plug" - do I need to order a second copy? :D

Will this be a good book to make sure to get in print instead of ebook? Does it have a lot of graphics?
