I was a little bit on the fence about whether to post this here at Silver Bulletin, but I got a request for an Elite Eight update from an important subscriber (my mom) so here goes. Numbers are updated with Friday night’s results plus the latest injury news. Tennessee’s Santiago Vescovi and Alabama’s Latrell Wrightsell Jr. are questionable for the Elite Eight, so those are the main situations to monitor.
Two of the #1 seeds — Houston and North Carolina — have been knocked out, though the model liked them less than the surviving #1s, Connecticut and Purdue, who respectively have a 40 percent and 26 percent chance of winning the tournament. The Huskies, the model’s favorite going into the tournament, have looked utterly dominant so far, but it’s still tough to win three games in a row in the postseason.
Remaining tourney updates will be posted on Twitter and/or Substack Notes, so you might want to follow me there. And we’ll have a subscriber questions post going up at some point on Sunday — yes, it’s an election year, so we’re working weekends here at Silver Bulletin HQ.
Thanks for following these projections, and there’s news to announce soon about the election model, the podcast, and other things. In case you’re not subscribed yet, you can do that below:
